When scheduling your family portrait photo shoot (by phone or email!) it’s best to take several factors into consideration.
In general, it is best to book four to six weeks in advance from when you want to hold your session. That can change, however, based on exactly when you want to have your family session.
Busy times-For example, Saturday and Sundays fill up first so it is best to schedule eight weeks out during peak season (October through December) for you to get a weekend availability at the time of day that works best for you and your location. If you have a special family portrait request during Thanksgiving weekend to accommodate out of town family visitors contact us early because limited sessions will be available.
Location-Where you want your photo shoot also plays a factor. Depending upon the location, booking an outdoor session may require a special time of day due to lighting or traffic flow. As a general rule for you to consider when checking your calendar, we will target a session time a few hours prior to sunset or early in the morning for best lighting.
Children’s needs-If you have small children, consider scheduling at a time that they are usually in their best mood.
