It’s not too late for 2016 Northwest Arkansas seniors to get their portraits!

_MG_7156 (1)The second semester of the 2015-2016 school year is in full swing and before students realize it, Spring Break will be gone and it will be time for finals.

Are you a senior or perhaps the parent of a senior who hasn’t had your senior pictures taken yet? Don’t worry! There’s still time but I encourage you to act quickly. Winter has a lot of potential for great photography in Northwest Arkansas.

_MG_6838First, let’s talk location. Northwest Arkansas has a growing number of revitalized downtowns that offer great backdrops for senior photography. Also don’t forget places such as Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and various city parks throughout the region. In some cases, we can arrange to have the photos taken on location at your school to best reflect your hobbies and interests. Studio shots are also still an attractive solution to senior pictures.

A generation or two ago, senior pictures were pretty much only in the studio with most people having the same background. I love that seniors have much more opportunities to reflect their interests, personality and style with a senior picture portfolio.

Some trends I’m seeing this year include:

  • _MG_7316Lots of denim, especially for the girls.
  • Choosing a location that reflects a hobby or interest, such as a theater or athletic field. This is in addition to having props that demonstrate the hobby or interest.
  • Having one outfit that is simple and classic and another that is a bit more daring and fun (but obviously age appropriate). The latter is fun to pair against colorful background accents.
  • Brick and colorful building siding continue to be popular backgrounds.

What are you waiting for? Senior pictures capture memories that will last for years to come. Schedule your senior portrait session today.
