Sure, you could get the traditional stuffed animals, chocolate and flowers. How about giving a gift that lasts? A gift that honors a loved one or someone special from your past?
At Linda Richards Photography, we don’t just take new photos. We also offer photo restoration services that create a new image from your old photos. This is an amazing gift idea for your spouse, children, parents and any other loved one at Valentine’s Day.
If you are lucky you have a photo of an ancestor or grandparent but many of those may have started to fade or has cracks/bends from years of keep. We can take the original photo, make a digital copy that we restore, then return the original picture with the restored digital image. The original photo is never altered.
The primary goal of photo restoration is to preserve the image while repairing damage caused over time. We repair the image by removing scratches, tears and other visible bends. Sometimes we add contrast to a photo that has faded over time. Our goal is to keep the authenticity of the original image in tact but remove the distracting lines from photo bends.
One of the first questions that people ask is, how much does something like that cost? They assume that rejuvenating their historic photos is a very expensive procedure. We quote prices based on the complexity of each individual project.
Another idea to consider is what will you do with the restored photo? We recommend printing the photo and framing it for your loved one or making a family tree scrapbook with several images.
