4 Things to do with kids on a hot Sunday afternoon

My niece and nephews were in town for a visit over the weekend and I had the opportunity to take them out and about in downtown Bentonville. It was super hot but we found ways to have fun and stay cool. It was exciting for me to think of fun activities for small children since both my boys are teenagers now. We didn’t have the Amazeum or Splash Park when they were little.  I found four things to do with the kiddos on a very hot Sunday afternoon!

  1. Before we got sweaty from the heat we dropped in Bogle Park to snap a few pictures of Mira in her new birthday outfit.

2. We found a shaded park to play in until we needed a break from the heat.  Bentonville has many parks to choose from but not all are shaded. We ended up at Park Springs Park not far from downtown.

3. It was now time for an old fashioned ice cream break and the Spark Cafe was the perfect spot. We found seats right up at the bar!

4. To really cool off on a hot day visiting the Splash Park is a must! It was a perfect ending to a fun afternoon in Downtown Bentonville on a hot Sunday afternoon.

My cell phone is water proof so I was able to play in the water and take photos!

We had a lot of fun and stayed hydrated in the heat! Don’t let the heat stop you from getting out to play!
